2-Step Frozen BCS Smooth Smoothie!
BCS stands for Banana, Carrot, & Spinach smoothie. The frozen bananas are a key ingredient for a great & healthy smoothie, since their strong sweet taste can cover up just about any flavor! (except for tomatoes, don't try to cover up the flavor of a tomato with a banana…) The two step blending process is important to get the carrot & spinach finely blended and smooth!
- Frozen Chopped Banana (1)
- Carrot (1/2)
- Spinach (1 large bunch)
- Milk / Soy Milk (As you like)
- Protein Powder (Optional)
Peel your half carrot…
But actually you'll want to put your spinach in first, not like shown…
But torn up by hand like this!
Then chop your carrot up…
And put it on top of the spinach. It seems like this helps push the spinach down into the blades once you start blending.
If you're adding a protein powder or supplement you can do it here.
Then blend it for the first time, with about half your total milk.
This is key so that you can really get the carrot and spinach blended finely. If you fill up the blender all the way there's just too much room for the spinach and carrot to avoid the blade and you're likely to end up with a crunchy smoothie :/
Then add in your banana and any additional milk and give it the final blend!
