Caprese is a simple italian dish. Easy to make, but excellent taste. It always reminds me of the summer, even in deep winter! you can make it as a starter or as a light snack.
- tomato (2)
- buffalo mozzarella (2)
- basil leaves (5-8)
- olive oil (1 tbsp)
- acceto balsamico (1 1/2 tbsp)
- black pepper
slice tomatoes and mozzarella
arrange it on a plate
chop the basil leaves.
i used fresh lemon-basil from my balkony but any other basil is fine, even dry one works
I prefer to grind the pepper i use, to have a fresh taste
add basil, salt, grinded black pepper, olive oil and acceto balsamico
serve it with a fresh olivebread and a few olives.
You can also make caprese-sticks with cherry tomatoes, mini mozzarella balls and a basil leave on a toothstick.. great for a buffet or as tapas
