HANAMI DANGO Cookies
Featured Recipe, Apr 11 2012Way to get creative! Try this fun variation on the traditional snowball cookie on your next spring picnic. Just in time for cherry blossom season!
Here is snow ball cookies (mexican wedding cakes) . but its imitation HANAMI DANGO. Hanami dango is while eaten during Hanami (Cherry blossom viewing). and also It's usually 3 colors dango. So, I made 3 colors snowball cookies, just like a Hanami Dango!
- Unsalted butter (100g (3.5oz))
- Sugar (60g)
- Cake Flour (130g)
- Corn starch (20g)
- Vanilla extract (to taste)
- Kinako (soy bean flour) (2 tsp)
- Matcha (green tea powder) (1 tsp)
- Sufficient Confectioners' sugar to roll
Preheat oven to 350F.
Shift together flour and corn starch.
Microwave the butter until it melted, Combine sugar and butter together.
Combine flour and corn starch with a spatula.
Divide the dough into 3. Add vanilla for one dough, add kinako for another, and add matcha for the rest. Form each dough into small balls.
Skewer each colors of cookie dough. Place on the parchment paper.
Wrap handle of skewer in an aluminum foil to not catching a fire.
Bake about 10 minutes.the cookies shouldn't be browned.
When it cooled, Roll in confections' sugar.
