Oyako-don (Chicken and Egg rice bowl)
OYAKODON is a Japanese traditional comfort food. I'm sure your Kids will love this Japanese meals! So easy, simple, quick and yummy! We love OYAKODON!!!
- water (5 oz)
- sliced dried shiitake mushrooms (4 to 5 pieces)
- light-colored soy sauce (1 tbsp)
- MIRIN (1 tbsp)
- sugar (2 tsp)
- salt (1/3 tsp)
- Chicken thights (5 and 1/4 oz)
- onion (1/2)
- egg (2)
- MITSUBA (if you want)
- steamed rice (2 cup)
Soak dried mushroom in water.
Add soy sauce, mirin, sugar and salt.
Cut chicken into bite-size pieces. Slice onion.
Put soy sauce mixture in a pot or a skillet and bring to a boil on medium heat.
Put chicken and onion in a skillet and cover with a lid. Let simmer till cooked.
Beat eggs in a bowl, pour over the chicken and onion. Cook an additional 10 sec. Remove from heat and cover the skillet until egg is steamed.
Serve over cooked rice in a bowl.
