Quick Tuna Pasta
Tuna fish is an excellent source of protein, essential vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids. This pasta is one of my personal favourites. It's healthy, delicious and very easy to prepare!
- Onion (thinly sliced) (1)
- Tomatoes ripened on vine (Diced) (5)
- Garlic (chopped) (2 cloves)
- Carrot (finely chopped) (1)
- Tomato puree (2 tbsp)
- Basil leaves (1 handful)
- Fusilli pasta (2 cups)
- Tuna steak (drained) (1)
Prepare all your ingredients.
Boil a large saucepan of water, adding salt to the water after it boils. Throw in pasta to cook, stirring occasionally.
Fry onions with a glug of olive oil.
Add in garlic, carrots and tomatoes and fry for 5mins.
Add in the tomato puree and continue cooking for another 2mins.
Then the heat down and add in tuna and basil leaves. Flake the tuna and mix well.
Simmer for 10-15mins. The longer you cook it the softer and more flavourful it becomes.
Serve with your favourite pasta!
