Sauteed shishito peppers
A beautiful, quick and easy appetizer!!! Shishito peppers are peppery in flavor but sweet. Chirimen jako is good in combination and the crunchy fish are delightful.
- shishito peppers (100 grms.)
- chirimen jako(dried sardin fry) (1/2cup)
- sesame oil (2tbsp.)
- cooking sake (2tbsp.)
- soy sauce (5tbsp.)
- mirin(sweet sake) (2tbsp.)
Wash the shishito
Saute the chirimen jako in sesame oil until a little bit crunchy.remove from pan and set aside
.In same pan saute the shishito with sesame oil until slightly brown
Pour on the sake,soy sauce and mirin
Pour on the chirimen jako and simmer until absorbed
Point:Don't overcooked.if overcooked it collapse and become flat.If you want to retain their shape before washing the shishito looking back to the first step make plenty whole to the shishito using toothpick so as not to become flat.
