Stuffed Green Pepper Boats (starter)
I've had something like this many times at Izakaya's in Japan and wanted to try making them for a long time. This week I got a big bag of green peppers in my vegetable box delivery, so seemed like time to try and come up with something! This recipe makes a nice fun starter for any meal.
- Ground beef (200 g)
- Green peppers (6 small-ish)
- Onion, diced (1/2 medium)
- Garlic (1 clove)
- Soy sauce (3 tbsp)
- Salt (1 tsp)
- Fresh ground black pepper (a pinch or three)
- Ground paprika (1/2 tsp)
Gather your ingredients! "Mise en place" as they say in France
Dice the onion and garlic, then combine them well with all the other ingredients in a bowl - the beef, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika and soy sauce.
To prepare your green pepper boats, first chop off the tops...
then slice in half...
and remove any seeds and stems.
Next, firmly press a spoonful of your beef mix into each pepper boat, and put them on a tin foil lined tray under your grill, on a medium heat for 8 minutes.
Now you made it, don't forget to take a Cooksnap photo to upload below! Recipe authors always LOVE to hear from you and see how their recipe turned out in your kitchen.
