TA-CHIN (Chicken and rice dish)
cooked chicken mixed with saffron rice makes this dish not only TASTY but BEAUTIFUL!!
- onion (1 medium )
- chicken (250g)
- rice (4 cups)
- egg yolk (3)
- yogurt (100 g)
- potato (3 medium)
- tomato paste (3 tablespoons)
- saffron (half a teaspoon)
- salt,pepper,turmeric (1 teaspoon each)
chop the onion and fry it till golden
add chicken and fry a bit
add tomato paste,salt,pepper,turmeric and a cup of water
boil water in a deep pot
wash the rice and add water and some salt.after 2 hours drain the water
pour the rice in the boiled water
cook it for about 5~10 minutes
drain the water
mix yogurt,egg yolks,chopped chicked and saffron
pour some cooking oil in a deep pot,peel the potatoes and frslice them.fry both sides
mix rice with the chicken mix
pour it in the deep pot over the potatoes.make some holes in the rice with a chopstick or spoon
put the lid and wait for about 5 minutes(LOW FIRE)
wrap the lid in a clean cloth like this!
put it back on the pot.
steam the rice for about 20 minutes
flip it over in a plate and serve!!
