The Best BBQ Garlic Ginger Meatballs (Tsukune)
I wanted to do a yakitori restaurant at home! Mixing in garlic, ginger, and just enough salt and pepper makes it delicious! Once it's char-grilled, its the best! The amount below can make 5 to 6 pieces.
- minced chicken (200 g)
- ginger (small amount)
- garlic (1/2 clove)
- salt and pepper (as appropriate)
- flour or potato starch (1 tablespoon)
- bamboo skewers (3-5)
Soak the bamboo skewers. (If you use charcoal, they are less likely to burn)
Mince and chop the garlic and ginger.
Mix together the chicken, garlic, ginger, salt and pepper.
Add in the flour or potato starch and mix more.
Wet your hands with water, then shape the dumplings. Skewer them onto the bamboo. The dumpling is very soft, so be careful not to let them fall off the skewer. Once skewered, cook on the grill.
After the bottom has browned, turn over the dumpling and continue grilling until cooked through. If needed, sprinkle with more salt and pepper. They are delicious covered in soy sauce while baking too. ^^
Now you made it, don't forget to take a Cooksnap photo to upload below! Recipe authors always LOVE to hear from you and see how their recipe turned out in your kitchen.
