Tofu Burger with Colourful Vegetables
This burger contains only tofu and vegetables, so it's very healthy and with the special sauce it's very yummy! Achieve inner beauty with healthy food :)
- tofu (300g)
- Edamame/ green soy beans (about 20 beans)
- carrot (1/4)
- purple onion (50g)
- bread crumbs (100g)
- salt (1 tsp)
- pepper (a little)
- *soysauce (1 tbsp)
- *sake/white wine (1 tbsp)
- *mirin/sweet sake (1 tbsp)
- *mayonnaise (1 tbsp)
- *sugar (1 tsp)
- *Starch and water (1 tsp starch + 1 tbsp water)
Wrap the tofu with a kitchen paper. Leave to soak up the water from the tofu for more than half an hour.
Dice the onion and carrot into small pieces. Hard boil the Edamame (green soy beans) and remove the beans from it's pod and into a bowl.
Add the tofu to the same bowl, press and mix well with the beans by hand.
Add bread crumbs, salt and pepper into the bowl, and mix again by hand.
Divide the mixture into 7 or 8 balls and then squash/push to get a burger shaped patty.
Pour the 1 tbsp of olive oil into a frying pan, once hot add the patties and put on the lid to cook for about 6 min on a low to medium heat.
Once the first side has browned, flip the patties and cook for another 6 min or more. Keep the lid on.
Mix all * ingredients well. And finally pour them on the burgers, making sure the sauce covers each burger well. Serve on a warmed plate and enjoy!
